Candlewick Press and BookSense.com are partnering to host an online chat with
bestselling author Gregory Maguire on Monday, November 19, at 11:00 a.m. EST.
The chat will present fans with an opportunity to ask Maguire about his latest
bestseller, What-the-Dickens:
The Story of a Rogue Tooth Fairy, as well as his other top-selling titles.
BookSense.com participating stores will
have the option of embedding the chat application on their websites or offering
consumers a link to the chat.
"BookSense.com is very excited about working with Candlewick to host an
online chat with Gregory Maguire, one of the most popular authors writing today,"
said Ricky Leung, BookSense.com director. "This is a terrific way for BookSense.com
participants to provide an added value to their customers and to drive traffic
to their websites."
Maguire
is the author of more than a dozen novels for children, as well as four adult
novels, including Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West,
which was made into a hit Broadway musical. His latest title, What-the-Dickens,
is the story of "What-the-Dickens," a newly hatched orphan creature
who finds he has an attraction to teeth and penchant for getting into trouble.
One day he happens upon a feisty girl skibberee who is working as an Agent of
Change (trading coins for teeth) and he learns that there is a dutiful tribe
of skibbereen (tooth fairies) to which he hopes to belong.
Booksellers with questions about adding the McGuire chat to their websites
should contact staff@booksense.com.
Other inquiries should be addressed to Leung at ricky@booksense.com.
